Our
Mission & Philosophy
Within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, the children at NewPath
Montessori School work with
unique Montessori materials individually
and at their own pace. As they work, they learn to trust their own ability
to think and solve problems independently, and learn not to be afraid of making
mistakes. The children are also provided the opportunity to work in groups,
and with a multitude of other attractive and interesting educational materials
which act as extensions and variations of the Montessori ones.
All activity, however, is guided by a respect for the teacher, a respect for
the work, for fellow students,
and a respect for the Montessori materials themselves. Self-discipline is acquired
gradually through absorption in meaningful work. The children of high ability
level are constantly challenged by a wide variety of materials and their many
uses. The Montessori teacher acts as a dynamic link between the child and the
prepared environment. She keenly observes the individual interests and needs
of each child. By helping the children to pursue their individual interests
in our Montessori classroom, the children gain an early enthusiasm for learning.
In addition to our regular schedule, we incorporate group singing, music appreciation,
dance, creative arts and crafts, games, and various projects with special themes
and field trips
are coordinated with our academic program for all of the children at each level.
Furthermore, extra-curricular activities include gymnasitics, yoga, and tennis.
Our large playground gives the children a great opportunity to engage themselves
with various outdoor activites and vigorous free play. During extended day-care
time, our children are provided a wide variety of indoor and outdoor educational
toys with which to play. Learning
how to work and play together with others in a peacful and caring manner is
perhaps the most crucial life skill we teach at NewPath
Montessori School.
